It appears David De Gea has let the cat out of the bag after telling a fan that Barcelona’s Thiago Alcantara would be joining Manchester United.
Reports have claimed that United are locked in talks with Barcelona, trying to agree a fee, after the player agreed to join United and whilst Barcelona are holding out it is widely believed that the Spanish starlet will become a United player.
Earlier this week, Thiago made the news after a fan got him to sign a Manchester United shirt and caught the whole episode on camera. But there was more to it, and the same fan grabbed himself a little scoop!
Fadi Azem, who got Thiago to sign the shirt, told United website the PeoplesPerson that De Gea confirmed that his u21 team mate would be joining him at Old Trafford:
“I told De Gea to keep telling Thiago to come to United. ”He will, don’t worry”, was what he said back to me.”
Barcelona are said to be doing all they can to keep Thiago with both Gerard Pique and Xavi advising the youngster to remain patient, and yesterday Thiago’s father Mazinho was pictured with Barcelona president Sandro Rosell in perhaps further talks to convince the youngster to remain in Spain.
