Ronaldo could possibly rejoin United this summer

James Ducker of The Times believes Manchester United’s move for Thiago Alcantara is all set to be completed, but are just waiting for the player to give it the go ahead.

It has long been thought that the midfielder would head to Old Trafford, with a deal being reached between the player and the club, but nothing has materialised yet.

It was reported that Thiago’s father Mazinho travelled back to Barcelona to confirm that his son would be moving to Manchester after meeting with United officials, but given Ducker’s comments this appears to be false as the deal hinges on the player himself giving the move the green light.

Speaking on MUTV, Ducker said:

“I think it’s all in place. If Thiago gives the green light, then he’ll become a Manchester United player.”

Marca reported that the player was stalling on the move, with news that Bayern could swoop for him so perhaps this is what is causing the hold up?

Ducker also spoke on a potential move for Cristiano Ronaldo, claiming it was possible but unlikely.

Ronaldo is said to be unhappy with his current situation in Madrid, but new manager Carlo Ancelotti is working on keeping the former United man at the Bernabeu.

Ducker said:

“There is interest there, but I would be surprised to see it happen this summer.”
