After weeks of speculation, it is being reported that Manchester United’s chase for Thiago Alcantara is over and the club will announce his signing at tomorrow’s presser to unveil David Moyes to the press.

The whole thing has become protracted with various twists and turns, but The Express believe United have finally snapped up the 23 year old and will present him as a gift to fans on Friday:

“One Old Trafford official described the Thiago saga as similar to the failed attempt to sign Holland star Wesley Sneijder in 2011, the Spaniard’s signature may yet be sealed in the coming days.

“There is even hope that United will be able to announce the Barcelona youngster’s signing at Moyes’ first press conference as Sir Alex Ferguson’s successor – with the Scot having pressed for the club to bring in Thiago.”

This could be just more talk, but with the transfer window open and clubs around us making signing I, like most fans, hope the club will tie up a deal to sign him sooner rather than later!

Unless I see him holding the AON jersey, I will not take it seriously. When it comes to transfers, I cannot stop thinking about Ronaldinho, Benzema, et al. Man Utd always get it wrong on new arrivals.
