Arsenal ready to smash their wage structure to sign Rooney

During his first presser as Manchester United manager David Moyes has confirmed that, having met with Wayne Rooney several times, the striker will not be leaving Old Trafford.

With the assembled press chomping at the bit to ask about Rooney, Moyes clarified his position on Wayne Rooney, that he won’t be leaving the club.

“Wayne Rooney is not for sale. He’s a Manchester United player and will remain a Manchester United player.”

Moyes spoke of Rooney breaking Sir Bobby Charlton’s goal scoring record and claimed that it is something very achievable, meaning that he plans on keeping Rooney for the long run, but when asked if Rooney had confirmed that he wanted to stay, Moyes dodged the question saying Rooney has been training well and had a glint in his eye.

Keen to move on the matter ended with Moyes saying Wayne wouldn’t be sold by the club.

Moyes also confirmed that he asked Rene Meulensteen to stay but the Dutch coach felt it would be best that he had a fresh start.
