is not for sale. He’s a player and will remain a Manchester player.”

Moyes spoke of Rooney breaking Sir Bobby Charlton’s goal scoring record and claimed that it is something very achievable, meaning that he plans on keeping Rooney for the long run, but when asked if Rooney had confirmed that he wanted to stay, Moyes dodged the question saying Rooney has been training well and had a glint in his eye.

Keen to move on the matter ended with Moyes saying Wayne wouldn’t be sold by the club.

Moyes also confirmed that he asked to stay but the coach felt it would be best that he had a fresh start.
