David-Villa-Barcelona-Champions-League-final-_2602905

Wayne Rooney will have met with David Moyes this week to discuss his future and whilst many believe that the striker wants to stay at Old Trafford, what can United do if talks prove fruitless?

Spanish paper Sport believe United could be doing further business with Barcelona this summer, reporting a player plus money move for the United striker.

The paper claim that Barcelona are ready to offer €25m plus David Villa for the United forward, an offer that United would surely consider.

Despite being Spain’s all time leading goal scorer, Villa has been deemed surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp and has found playing time hard to come by. The 31 year old has been linked with both Arsenal and Tottenham but would United be interested in signing the player that put the 2011 Champions League final to bed with a spectacular goal at Wembley?

Barcelona are looking to get him off their books but are hoping for a fee around €12m that nobody has yet seemed willing to match but incorporating him into a move for United would kill two birds with one stone for the Catalan giants as Sport seem to think:

“If David Moyes is interested in signing David Villa and wanted to him in a potential transfer, Sandro Rosell would be willing to pay up to €25m to sign Rooney.”

If Rooney isn’t keen on sticking around, as said before, I feel this is something United should look into.

    2 be honest we should let go of Roo. When a player is not feeling Happy or feels is bigger than his club is something else. Let fresh faces come in, cos it as happen in the pass {Van N & Beckham}

    Tell him to leave, we don’t want him anymore. I don’t like a player without any loyalty to the club
