Phil Neville has revealed that he had offers on the table before joining Manchester United as a coach this summer.
Neville hung up his boots at the end of last season, and although he worked with England’s u21 set up in Israel for the European championships this summer, he had no commitments.
Talk of a return to Old Trafford were dismissed as it was believed that the former Everton captain was in the running for theĀ manager’s role vacated by David Moyes. Neville revealed that he was interviewed for the role before opting to return to Old Trafford.
But it wasn’t just Everton that missed out on the younger Neville brother, as he revealed he passed up the chance to follow his brother Gary into a punditry position with the BBC to return to his home club:
“I was interviewed for Everton job, I’d also agreed a contract with BBC.
“But in the back of my mind I wanted to come back to Manchester United.”
Is he right man to best club man U…..???
If he has the club in his heart ,and many years experience with great player’s and under fergie , at the very least he deserves some sort of roll at the club..alot of us probably weren’t expecting this one. But look he has his shot now so let’s get behind him,he done us proud for many a year, so let’s hope it works out the way we all want.. .
