After a summer of speculation, it appears that Nani is ready to sign a new deal at Old Trafford.
It had been thought that Nani could leave Manchester United this summer, with Roma, Galatasaray, Juventus and Monaco monitoring his situation closely but the winger appears to want to stay at Old Trafford.
Nani missed United’s tour of Asia and Australia recovering from nose surgery, but competed in a number of domestic games and impressed.
Speaking after scoring a brace against Crewe, Nani said:
“I hope to win the league again and, for my personal wishes, I want to be at my best and score a lot of goals. Like I said, I just need to be at my best and then everything will come together.”
He was looking impressive against AIK Footbol last week before a hamstring injury forced him out of the game, but Nani appears keen to return to action and prove he is worthy of a new deal at Old Trafford as Guardian journalist Jamie Jackson tweeted this afternoon:
Nani wants to stay at #mufc and is expected to do so. He is keen to sign a new contract, fight for starting place
