Adnan Januzaj vs Yokohama F.Marinos

Having shone during pre season for United, Adnan Januzaj dropped back down into the u21 for United’s season opener against Liverpool.

Many had expected him to have a place in David Moyes’ first PL squad but instead he was a part of Warren Joyce’s team and whilst United ended up losing the game 4-2, Januzaj again showed why he is so highly regarded with an impressive attacking display.

Exploiting the wide areas, Januzaj frequently ran at the full backs, jinking his way into the box. His quick feet and shifts in body weight often allowed him to get the better of his man and in one particularly impressive move burst down the right and managed to get a cross in when it looked like he wouldn’t, only for Lawrence to head wide.

Whilst it is accepted that Januzaj will play some part in the first team this season, if he continue to put in displays like this he will see his journey to the first team a much quicker one.
