United approach Ander Herrera

According to Guillem Balague, Manchester United are ready to pay the €36m to secure the signature of Athletic Bilbao’s Ander Herrera.

United had a bid rejected for the midfielder last week and went away to decide whether to meet the 24 year old’s buyout clause.

Today it’s been reported by El Mundo that the player was willing to lower his wage demands from €4m a year to €3m a year in order to get the deal done and it appears to have worked.

Balague first tweeted:

Then appeared on Sky Sports News to go into further details, confirming that the move was well on it’s way to being completed.

United’s attention now turns to Everton’s Marouane Fellaini, and with his club bringing in James McCarthy from Wigan for £12.5m, United are hopefully of also wrapping up that deal too.
