continued to impress on international duty, with a goal against Ghana in Japan’s 3-1 win over the African nation.

After an assist against Guatemala, Kagawa grabbed a goal firing past the helpless keeper to draw Japan level after the break.

After the game Kagawa was reported as voicing his displeasure at being left out of the squad, saying:

“Please ask why I’m not in the side.

“It is frustrating not playing but to score a goal like that gives me confidence. Hopefully I can take that back to my club with me and things will improve.”
