Steven Defour
David Moyes is to look to Belgium again as he seeks midfield reinforcements, reigniting Manchester United’s interest in Steven Defour.

United were frequently linked with the 25 year old whilst he was at Standard Liege, with Sir Alex Ferguson going as far as to send him a personal letter wishing him the best when he was ruled out of first team action with a broken leg.

Defour left Liege in 2011, joining Porto for €6m with United choosing not to challenge the Portuguese club, but it appears that Moyes will return to Defour as he looks to bolster his midfield.

Moyes himself attempted to add Defour to his side whilst at Everton having previously signed Marouane Fellaini from the side also known as the Red Devils, and could reunite the international team mates at Old Trafford.

Sporting Witness have highlighted a number of instances where United are said to have watched him and they will undoubtedly have had eyes on him tonight as Belgium lost 2-0 to Columbia, as well as in their tie with Japan in a few days.

Another interesting point that could be a factor in the transfer is Anderson. Porto are clearly interested in their former player and he has been touted as a makeweight in a number of United/Porto deals. Clearly out of favour at Old Trafford, could Moyes kill two birds with one stone and ship him out in favour of Defour?

see I don’t understand Powell’s situation at Wigan… I read they do play him in advance position I.e he’s the one leading there forward line whereas we want him to be train and played as a central midfield player so as to improve and break into utd first 11.. am I mistaken? lemme know please!. as for defour I don’t what it to happen cox he is a squad player and when have to many squad player at the moment,we have to offload them!!.

Dude his first game with united as first team under sir alex was again wigan and he replace scholes and played in central midfield with carrick and score its first debut from a long range shot just like scholes score goal outside the box. With wigan also he score goal in that same way.

Same old Man Utd. They talk about a player and they are interested when they are young.
Then they wait for him to go to another club and then pay ten times more than they would have for the same player

Guyz trust me n.powell is a great talent and moyes should call him back. He has the abilite like fellaini. But his playing style is like scholes. He always score goal from outside the box just like scholes does before. And he also can played behind striker or right midfield. But his real place is central midfield.

Common guyz sir alex is not a fool. He always used in experience and knowlege in transfer market. He always buy player which can play in different position apart his real position becoz he know in united they always get injured becoz united played many match. Like fa cup, calling, champion league and premier league. If thing goes wrong in a match then these player replace them by leaving their real position.

    Example:
    evra(central defence,left winger)
    rooney(central midfielder,left winger,right winger)
    valencia(right back)
    carrick(central defence)
    fletcher(central defences,right winger)
    jones(central midfielder,right back)
    evans(left back)

you see these player have left their real position to help united. That why sir alex buy player which can played in different position.
