Ravel Morrison vs RooneyRavel Morrison will not be returning to Old Trafford, instead Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Rene Meulensteen will battle it out for the youngster’s signature according to The Guardian.

Morrison’s West Ham contract is up in 18 months, with the London club having to increase his £15k a week wages to £60k upon renewal. With Sam Allardyce’s side caught up in a relegation battle, paying the 20 year old £60k a week whilst in the Championship doesn’t seem viable.

Meulensteen has been linked with a move for Morrison throughout the transfer window, whilst the arrival of Solskjaer at Cardiff has seen him too register interest as he adds a number of players that he worked with during his spell as reserve team manager at Old Trafford to his squad.

The Guardian report that an offer of £10m would see West Ham have to sell or Morrison’s wages go up to £60k so a £5m bid for the player that cost £600k may tempt them to sell.

Morrison has been linked with a return to Old Trafford but it is understood that Moyes is not interested in bringing Morrison back, leaving Fulham as the favourites for his signature.
