Juan Mata

Manchester United have made contact with Chelsea in the hope of signing out of favour Juan Mata according to The Daily Mirror.

Mata has found himself on the periphery of Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho’s plans this season after starring for the London club in the past 2 seasons.

The Spaniard’s father, who also acts as his agent, is said to have met with Chelsea officials seeking clarification on his son’s future only to be given no assurances of playing time.

With his future up in the air David Moyes could capitalise on the situation with the Mirror claiming United have made contact with Chelsea aiming to snap up the 25 year old for what would be a bargain £20m, despite Chelsea valuing him closer to £30m.

Chelsea would likely be reluctant to sell their former player of the year to United meaning Atletico Madrid could benefit, having been linked with a loan move for Mata.

United have been linked with Mata before; at the start of the season with Wayne Rooney on Mourinho’s radar, Mata was touted as a possible bargaining chip to entice United to part with the striker.

No Way Mata for United. Man U could not afford to release Rooney why should Chelsea release Mata. Much as I would like Mata to leave to ease the media presure but leaving for United would not be good for Chlesea.

its not an issue, therefore it is paper talk becos Chelsea will never sell to United and man u officials also knows this. they need mata more than we need Rooney. PSG will be willing to pay close to 35- 40 and united 20mils? a big joke becos we bought him for almost 24mils if I’m not wrong and we will hit a massive profit from his apparent sale. de byrn brought a profit of 10mils not to talk of mata.

That a good choice we mata our midfield will be strong.

  6. desmond says:

i’m a man u fan, seeing juan mata in united shirt is a big boast in united midfield. Playing mata alongside Rooney and Van persie is gonna be a lethal partnership. Jose of chelsea does not know the value of mata and if he (mata) continue to be left on the bench, he wil not be selected for world cup.
