Spanish paper AS has revealed that David Moyes failed with a move for Atletico Madrid left back Filipe Luis during the January transfer window, which has contributed to their top four odds with BitBet.com being left in tatters.

With a long term replacement being sort for Patrice Evra and Brazilian Fabio being sold to Cardiff, AS claim that Moyes zeroed in on Luis but saw his advances rebuffed both by the club as well as the player.

Moyes hunt for a left back has been extensive with a number of players on his shortlist, it is widely expected that Patrice Evra will leave Old Trafford this summer, one of 3 senior defenders to call time on their United careers, so Moyes has been looking.

The Scot fell short in his pursuit of Leighton Baines with Everton defender signing a new deal whilst Luke Shaw is believed to have his heart set on the team he supported as a boy, Chelsea.

Luis joined Atletico in 2010 from Deportivo La Corunia and has since gone on to become regarded as one Europe’s finer left backs, a position that isn’t easy to fill. The 28 year old is believed to want to remain in Spain with Atletico as they remain in the race for the La Liga title, as it would strengthen his prospects of getting into the Brazilian World Cup squad.

I think Moyes should be given a chance to do his job bc managing United isn’t an easy job to do,when Sir Alex Fuguson came in as coach he spent 4 seasons without lifting a single trophy u know so let us give a chance

    Tony,
We need to remember one thing. When SAF arrived at Man U, Man U’s result was really poor and the squad needs huge change in order to be able to challenge Liverpool. It is justifiable for SAF to take a while to fix prooblems.
When Moyes took over in the summer, he inherited a champion winning squad from SAF. Depsite the relatively week mid-field Man U have had in the last few seasons, Man U still able to win some silverwares.
I accept that Moyes should be given more time to fix problems, but sitting some 15 points behind the league leader is not just acceptable. I have to blame Moyes for this.

No matter what happens, a true fan must stand with his club no matter the tribulations that will come his/her way.. Please he needs our supports in all aspect.. Therfore, lets give him a some time… Please….
