Manchester United have been linked with a plethora of Dutch and Bayern stars given Van Gaal’s past. Most notably Toni Kroos who recently dismissed the idea of a move to United.

Robben had been linked with United also, but the 31 year old has also rubbished reports that he could move to Manchester.

The former Chelsea winger told De Telegraaf:

“Look, it’s very different when you’re not completely happy. I would certainly be open to it, because I had a fantastic time with Van Gaal at FC Bayern and owe what I have to him. It is very important for my career. Anyway, the fact is that I’m at a club where my family and I have a great time.

“Van Gaal and Guardiola are the best trainers with whom I worked. So yes, I feel good and will stay where I am. The chance is zero that I make the switch.”

With yet another player ruling out a move to United, the summer threatens to be a long one and could even see a repeat of the comedy of last summer where, having missed out on a number of targets, United were left with just Marouane Fellaini.
