Vidal Chilean paper

Arturo Vidal has verbally agreed to join Manchester United this summer, according to reports in Chilean paper El Mecurcio.

It has long been thought that Vidal would join United this summer, but the move has dragged on as both sides posture, United on the fee and Juventus not wanting to be seen as letting their star midfielder leave without a fight.

Yesterday it was reported that United had submitted a €60m bid for Vidal, with his agent Fernando Feliecivich trying to negotiate a move away from Turin for his client.

But El Mecurcio claim that talks have been ongoing for 2 weeks and Vidal has since agreed to join United according to an undisclosed source:

Vidal wants to leave, and he’s told his agent this. They’ve even already made a verbal agreement with Manchester. However, Arturo is very respectful towards Juve, grateful for what they’ve given him and will accept their final decision.

The paper claim United are willing to pay Vidal a whopping $18m a year whilst Juve are looking at a fee in the region of $80m.

  9. Ray says:

If the figures quoted are true it’s a lot of money but to say it’s too expensive is premature. If he is the driving force behind us getting back in the CL and then going on and winning it. The money is immaterial compared to the prize money and TV revenue we’ll receive.
