Manchester United midfielder Angel Di Maria has been nominated for the Barclays Player of the Month award for September.

Di Maria during his Real Madrid days

After becoming the club’s record signing in August, Di Maria has settled in to life at Old Trafford with apparent ease, and after scoring and creating numerous goals this month, it was hardly a shock when he was given the Manchester United player of the month award in September.

He has now though been nominated for the Premier League player of the month and this comes as no surprise for United fans, given his electric displays throughout September.

With a tough spell of fixtures ahead for United, including Chelsea and the Manchester derby, United fans will be both hoping and expecting the world class Argentine to continue his sensational form.

Other Nominees:

It is perhaps surprising that Chelsea duo Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa have not been nominated this month, and Di Maria will instead compete with Leandro Ulloa (Leicester), Diafra Sakho (West Ham), Mile Jedinak (Crystal Palace), Graziano Pelle and Morgan Schneiderlin (both Southampton) for the prize. All of whom have had good months, but Di Maria certainly appears favourite to take the award.

We at The Busby Way  feel Angel surely must take home the award, but what do you guys think? Let us know below!
