Do any of us really think that ANYTHING we do will make any difference whatsoever, if the Glazer family do not want to sell the club ?

The Red Knight’s have (supposedly) tabled £1bn and have been rebuffed (& to be honest, looking at the debts and the PIK’s and the Bond issue – that figure is well wide of the mark)

To give the Glazers the incentive to walk away, I’d say the offer would have to be “£1bn and we’ll take on your debts” that equates to only just above the clubs market value – and when you consider that the Glazers can take out £140m per year between now and when the bond matures (7 years = £0.98bn) even that wouldn’t be that attractive to them.

I can honestly say that I can’t see any light at the end on the tunnel, No mater how many of us boycott, march and wave the G&G, the Glazer family will not care, they have already been photographed laughing at the LUHG banners in the Stretty & they are the kind of hard nosed business men who don’t respond to protests.

I won’t stop & I know a lot of other United fans won’t but it’s a fact that a week on Monday there will be clueless morons wearing shiny new AON branded shirts & a G&G scarf, the ground will still be 95% full & all those time-served Reds who have thrown there Season Tickets back in the face of the Americans, will have been replaced by ‘1 game a season’ day-trippers, who have paid £99 for a £42 tickets, a Megastore voucher and fish ‘n chips !

If the likes of Keith Harris – with his financial clout and wealthy friends are waving the white flag and looking elsewhere, what can WE realistically do ?

There’s no need for name calling, you have issues with the owners not the fans, whatever their motivation may be. I am not condoning people buying the ST that are given up but don’t expect people to understand where you are coming from when you cannot understand their motivations. Yes, I know it is short sighted and will help the Glazers but hey, I have never been to OT and if i was in UK for a year and i had a chance to see United at home, i would jump at it!

I think the piece is very interesting as it highlights something I was discussing on Twitter the other day.

The hatred for the Glazers can actually be seen to be dividing fans. Fino has a point that it is pointless waving a green and gold scarf but buying the new kit.

But saying that I don’t judge, I thik the whole dynamics of the situation makes for interesting viewing and thats why I chose to post this piece.

And do you expect those same “morons” and “day-trippers” to come and read your blog too?
    Talk about being clueless…

  4. Of course there’s light at the end of the tunnel.

If 10 years ago someone told you that there would be 4,000 season tickets on general sale, you would have thought we must be playing in Division 3. Tickets at Old Trafford used to be like gold dust, now, the Glazers are really struggling to shift them.

    elvido,

I’m sorry but if you buy a New United shirt emblazoned with AON – you are saying:

    “I’m for the the Glazers”

If you then top it off with a Green & Gold scarf a visual protest by design that says:

    “I’m against the Glazers”

Then you are a moron of the highest order.

I’m not taking exception with my fellow Reds, but if you’re ‘that’ clueless that you go to the trouble of buying a visual symbol of protest only to contradict yourself – you’re not the sharpest tool in the shed !

    arijc,

I’m not saying that there is anything wrong with being a ‘Day tripper’ but it is a fact that a United game is now on a lot of kids wish-lists at birthdays & christmas.

The £99 (or sometimes £89 or £149 depending on what United decide to charge) package guarantee a ticket and makes it a lot easier for said parent to fulfil their childs wish, It’s just a fact of life when you are as successful on the pitch as United have been over the past 20 or so years A trip to the Theatre of dreams will be up there with a trip to Alton Towers.

And I would love morons to read my blog – I cater to the thick !

Please dont stop the Green & Gold campaign – we must show our displeasure of the Glazers and not be divided.People can choose to buy ST or the new kit but we have to understand that to stop now would be giving up.This may well end up a bit of a marathon, but protest we must.

    Scott,

That would’ve been because the grounds capacity had just been in increased to 61,000 due to demand.

    Now it’s 76,000 !

When north stand was being re-built tickets were so hard to get hold of I was known to part with nearly a weeks wage to get in.

I never said anything about buying shirts or scarfs, did I? Don’t try to be condescending! I was talking about your comment about day trippers going to OT. I have not bought any merchandise since the Glazer take over and am completely against the greedy bastards! If I was in the UK, I would definitely be a part of any Anti-Glazer stand. If you anything intelligent to add apart from calling people morons…..

  10. Fino says:

99.9% of reds would agree with my statement –

The people wearing G&G scarves, coming out of the Megastore with bulging carrier bags full the very merchandise that fuels the Glazers fire – ARE F**KING MORONS !!!

If you don’t agree – then that’s your right, everyone has the right to an opinion. I know yours & you know mine, end of !

Oh ! & not being in the UK doesn’t stop you from being part of the LUHG campaign – United are global & so is the struggle !
