Do any of us really think that ANYTHING we do will make any difference whatsoever, if the Glazer family do not want to sell the club ?

The Red Knight’s have (supposedly) tabled £1bn and have been rebuffed (& to be honest, looking at the debts and the PIK’s and the Bond issue – that figure is well wide of the mark)

To give the Glazers the incentive to walk away, I’d say the offer would have to be “£1bn and we’ll take on your debts” that equates to only just above the clubs market value – and when you consider that the Glazers can take out £140m per year between now and when the bond matures (7 years = £0.98bn) even that wouldn’t be that attractive to them.

I can honestly say that I can’t see any light at the end on the tunnel, No mater how many of us boycott, march and wave the G&G, the Glazer family will not care, they have already been photographed laughing at the LUHG banners in the Stretty & they are the kind of hard nosed business men who don’t respond to protests.

I won’t stop & I know a lot of other United fans won’t but it’s a fact that a week on Monday there will be clueless morons wearing shiny new AON branded shirts & a G&G scarf, the ground will still be 95% full & all those time-served Reds who have thrown there Season Tickets back in the face of the Americans, will have been replaced by ‘1 game a season’ day-trippers, who have paid £99 for a £42 tickets, a Megastore voucher and fish ‘n chips !

If the likes of Keith Harris – with his financial clout and wealthy friends are waving the white flag and looking elsewhere, what can WE realistically do ?

    @fino, i read a hell of a lot of blog posts and this was a poor effort, really poor article!

    …..my brother did not renew his season ticket when the glazer takeover went through, and refused to sell the ticket onto another family member (our cousin)…now he watches fc united every other week….

    if you want to start talking about day trippers and loyalty then maybe we should have all done that eh?!?!

  3. johnboy says:

    “united are global and so is the struggle”…the these global daytrippers certainly constitute something to our club no?!? awful piece of journalism

    There’s a light at the end of the tunnel. Time for all us who still cares about OUR football club to grow some balls. Then those fucking bastards will fuck off.

    Oh c’mon guys, don’t get so easily offended. I see Fino’s point, that being said it’s also stupid to think that only attendees to OT and those who purchase merchandise are filling the Glazer’s pockets. Really, even watching a game enhances their wealth (look up their TV and advertising revenues), so virtually every fan is placed in a “damned if you do and damned if you don’t” scenario. The only way one could really protest the ownership is to firmly boycott the club and that frankly doesn’t interest me.

    I live on the other side of the Alantic and when I had a chance to see United in Toronto last month I sure as hell didn’t turn down a rare opportunity. Even if I distrust the Glazers, I don’t think boycotting the club will do it and ultimately the players any good.

    I may be virtually alone in this, but I’ll still give Fergie the benefit of the doubt that he’s telling some truth about the Glazers. Not that I’m firmly in the Glazers camp, but I need more proof than a recent lack of major signings to prove the club is heading towards ruin.

    Hey Fino you tit, obviously you cannot understand simple English. I am not talking about buying merchandise here….. Oh sod it, you will probably come back with another word preceding morons. And what you are airing is not an opinion when you are talking out of your ass!

  7. Chudi Onwuazor says:

    I think Fino is well entitled to his opinion and shouldn’t be chastised for it. The same way if I posted a piece from someone who felt the opposite I wouldn’t like to see them getting stick if they could provide a good reason.

    Fino has a very good point in terms of wear a G&G scarf then buying merchandise it’s just that people don’t like hearing what is essentially the truth. Again I will say I am nobody to judge as my opinion is no more valid than the next United fan.

    Also in closing I would just like to say don’t insult his writing because you don’t agree with the content, he was brave enough to let me put this up and stand in the firing line for what he knew was a potentially unpopular stance. Something not a lot of people would.

  8. elvido says:

    @Chudi, it is not the stance inasmuch as the representation of it that is the issue. If he had actually read what i said, i was talking about the season tickets only and he was talking about merchandise! Either ways, mountains, molehills and all that… 😐

  9. irishred says:

    It was awful to see lads who had both the new jersey and a green and gold scarf on last night. How clueless are these people? Embarassing…

  10. Fino says:

    @elvido

    “There’s no need for name calling”

    And that you call me a ‘tit’ – that sir, rocked me to my very core.

    ….& yes !! Even when I’m “talking out of ass” it’s still my opinion & I’m still entitled to it !

    PS :- I don’t even own a talking Ass, if I did I’d be a billionaire and I’d buy United myself !!!!

    @johnboy

    Sorry.

    I must apologise for my lack journalistic prowess, but I wrote it on my iPhone whilst having a shit !

    If you re-read what I said about the ‘1 game a season’ brigade, I wasn’t actually critising them- in fact I don’t blame them.

    I’ve been to Barca a few times whilst on trips – I’ve seen the Lakers,the Nicks & the Yankees. My point was that even boycotting the Season ticket isn’t damaging if United can fill the seat – sometimes making even more money, my point was more about futility than anything else.
