In what was a lacklustre game at the Mestalla stadium, Javier Hernandez came off the bench to secure the points for United.

It took two subs combining with Kiko Macheda again making the difference at an important time setting up Hernandez who drilled low and hard past Cesar into the bottom corner.

Hernandez had gone close before, unable to direct the ball into the net when it dropped to him at the back post but when his chance came he took it well and also just as importantly we kept a clean sheet!

We now sit top of the group on 4 points joint with Rangers.

wasnt the best of games by any means, united were set out for a clean sheet so didnt offer much up front besides berba and nani, we need to stop playing park as lad is slow and lost all ability to control the ball…park doesnt bring much any more but two men that certainly do are javier and kiko, the two youngests bring speed, ability and desire to the team…it was a good time to score and hopefully it will kick start a mean streak in defence, great result concerning the group nnw lets win it.

Agreed Rohit a very mature performance showed he can get the job done without the eye catching bombing down the wing

    Excellent win!

Guessing the starting eleven wasn’t so tough, but Ando playing as the point midfielder knocked me for six. For a large part of the match it was working too. I’d love to see that develop.

BIG praise to Rafael. What a performance. He added a real attacking option to support Nani. The poor lad was playing for the last 30 minutes with his leg hanging off too! Well done young man.

As for the goal… great work down the right from Nani. A mature, intelligent pass inside from Kiko and a first touch and shot from Chich that made me scream up a lung!

European nights are back! How good is it being a red?!

Very good night for Rafael. He virtually marked his opponent out of the game and improved offensively as time went on. If some English player played that well at 20 years old they would herald him as a future star. Presently though, it is just faithful United fans who appreciate him, but recognition will come in time.

Certainly not a great game, but glad to see some of our injured players back. Rio played quite well, and Carrick started to look good in the 2nd half. Ando’s getting back into shape and tonight was a good place to start.

No matter what, can’t complain about a (rare) win him Spain.

Nani may not have had his best night offensively, but he was excellent tracking back, was really working his ass off..Anderson and rio for people coming back from long term injures looked very good, gives us much needed options for the first team..
But we need fletcher and evra to really get back to their previous forms..They have been a tad more wasteful than expected..
