A worrying trend has begun to rear it’s head amongst United fans again, with people blaming Dimitar Berbatov or singling him out criticism when the team on a whole doesn’t play well.

On Saturday there were a number of players who played worse than the Bulgarian but he seemed to be an easy target so I’ve decided to join the bandwagon. Rumour has it, Berbatov was at fault for a number of catastrophes throughout history and we have obtained photographic evidence catching him in the act of one of his heinous crimes, yes it was in fact Berbatov that started the great fire of London!

Obviously no player is beyond criticism but at least be fair and constructive with it rather than over the top and unnecessarily harsh!

So true. It’s like an unwritten rule among united fans, when the team is playing bad, blame Berba

  2. Cuzzy says:

Its actually pathetic that Berba recieves all the blame!! The blame has to fall on United’s crap midfield. Fletcher is playing rubbish at the moment as is Carrick. If Scholsey doesnt play, we have no service getting to the forwards. So, to anybody that has any idea about football, stop blaming Berba and focus your anger at our rubbish midfield!!!

  3. Baldrick says:

Yep, Carrick had a shocker this week. Would like to see the pass completion stats for him and Fletch.

    • RobbotheRed says:

You are spot on Balders. It wouldn’t matter who is playing up front if you can’t get the ball to them. I suspect that Fletcher & Carricks’ pass rate is OK, but if they are all sideways and backways it doesn’t matter. Fletcher is a good player for Man Utd if you have him as the support for a “creative” passer. Carrick offers little now and should be moved on.

Nobody is blaming berbatov soley for saturday but he was sh*t simple as that and deserves criticism for his performance! He is too inconsistent and hasn’t been able to find any consistency in 2 years.Genius when he’s on his game but that’s happening too rarely to be a man utd player

  5. Paul says:

Seriously? He is 30m, he was replaced by a relatively untested player, (at centre back!) who was pushed up front. He is lazy, not just his style, he is quick to blame his team mates rather than getting stuck in. He plays like Ray Wilkins when in posesion, he slows the momentum of our attack, he runs in blind alleys and looses posesion when ever he does try anything. Dont get me wrong talented player, but clearly not for United, sell him!! Best for both parties, I dont hate the guy, he just isnt good enough for United or the right player for the team, either way sell him!!!

  6. MArvIN says:

Its his ATTITUDE! One thing to play bad but everyone sees you are at least trying. Berba plays bad but also throws mini tantrums on the pitch which can’t help his team mates but also frustrates the whole out of us fans. Brilliant player sh*t attitude!

  7. Benni Robinson says:

Paul has got it bang on! we need to sell him as soon as possible and get someone like Hulk from Porto who has pace, flair and attack minded!! Also how can Man United, being the power house they are spend 7million on a player like Bebe. When I was 12 years old I could cross a ball better than he could. one thing is crossing to short or to long but it wasnt going anywhere near the goal, area or any of our player!! Nani is not good enough…Fletcher is not good enough…Park is not good enough….anyone watch the way Arsenal were playing yesterday – Cesc, Wilkshire, Arshavin, Chamak…one twos all over the park but why? because they pass to feet and they give it and go! I hate to say this but I’d rather be in Arsenal shoes than in Man Utd right now! even Sunderland yesterday we’re more exciting than Man U! Worse United I’ve seen my whole life.

Makes me seriously question if you have ever seen Hulk play beyond his Champions League appearances. I personally wouldn’t take him.

Nothing special about him beyond his name, if we are talking about Porto I could understand if we were talking about Falcao but Hulk is a no no for me

  8. Simon says:

Park, carrick and Nani were terrible. Unlike Berbatov, they gave the ball away cheaply and there overall play was crap. But that doesn’t stop deluded Manchester United fans’ blaming him.

What makes it worse is that Dimitar Berbatov is our top goal scorer and he made history against Liverpool with his hat-trick.

  9. Paul says:

One game does not a king make, I am not doubting the guy can play, on the ball he is impossible to beat sometimes, but for United, a team based on pace and desire to win the ball back and attack, he is a square peg in a round hole. He needs to be sold as he doesnt fit the team. Strikers are an important position for the tempo and penatration of a team, berb has not lived up to promise, how long are you gonna give him. 7 goals great, bet he doesnt get more than 12 all season, not enough. By the way not letting off others as well, need to do better, but he is lethal when not performing as it deflates everyones confidence, not in the right team.
