With summer just around the corner, the hunt for players to bring in has well and truly started.

David Gill confirmed that there would be signings this summer and with the club being linked with a number players, the potential new faces that we could see at Old Trafford next season are exciting.

Benfica’s Gaitan is a name that refuses to go away, whilst a host of players from our Europa League conquerors Athletic Bilbao have also been added to our list of transfer targets, if you believe what some of these papers say.

Whilst there has been little confirmation of our interest in these players, we have received our strongest signal as to who Sir Alex will be looking at this summer.

Speaking to French radio station RMC Sport, Sir Alex has apparently confirmed that he is looking at Lille attacker Eden Hazard. The Belgian has been on the radar of Europe’s biggest clubs for the past few years and with him confirming that he will move on this summer, a not so orderly queue has formed for the 21 year old’s signature.

Speaking following Lille’s game with Lyon, Sir Alex said:

“I came to watch Lille play Lyon and followed Hazard of course, along with other players.

“He is a very good player who has many qualities. He is particularly fast over the first 10 yards.”

One response to ““He is a very good player who has many qualities.””

  1. Jonny says:

It will be interesting to see who Ferguson wants to sign in the summer, but I’m sure he will be focusing on the massive Manchester Derby first. It’s the biggest game for a while and we have to get a result to win the title. A defeat will be a disaster and will really knock us. We have to get a result.

If we do get a result and go on to win the title, then we can focus on bringing in new players with enthusiasm. Eden Hazard is an interesting player but we do not normally go out and talk about players we want to sign. We have been strongly linked with Shinji Kagawa and Nicolas Gaitan as well.

Shinji Kagawa is an interesting player as well and someone I can see us going for. He is an attacking midfielder and has been terrific in Germany winning two titles. He is only 23 years old and is the star of the Japan team. Dourtmund look likely to sell this summer and he could be purchased for £12 million, as he only has one year left on his contract.

We could sign Kagawa and Nathaniel Clyne for possibly £14-15 million. We would have strengthened our right back position and bought an attacking midfielder for good value. We would still have money available to sign another 2 players, possibly a player like Eden Hazard.

We will need to sell as well and that will include Berbatov and Anderson I believe.
