Sir Alex Ferguson has paid tribute to departed midfielder Park Ji Sung, claiming the midfielder was a ‘fantastic servant’ to the club.
Park moved to QPR on Monday having been at Old Trafford for 7 years and upon departing had nothing but good things to say about his former club and team mates.
Earlier in the summer, Park had expressed a wish to retire at Old Trafford but with Sir Alex unable to guarantee him playing time the former captain of the South Korean national team made the £5m move to West London.
Sir Alex admits it was a difficult decision to let Park go, but the midfielder moves on with the praise of Sir Alex ringing in his ears as the manager spoke to the club’s official website:
“He’s been a fantastic servant to the club over the past seven years.
“He is the ultimate professional and such a nice lad; he never let us down on the big occasions. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t give him the number of games he wanted.
“Everyone at Manchester United wishes him well for the future and I am sure he will be a great success at QPR.”
Park to QPR am sad as a man utd fan he was a fighter but never mind i will see nick powell, kagawa and cleversly.
