Yesterday Sir Alex Ferguson ruled Nemanja Vidic out of this Sunday’s Manchester Derby, claiming the defender didn’t feel he wasn’t ready to return to first team action.

Whilst the defender hasn’t played since September and would have needed to have played in tonight’s game against FC Cluj before being thrown into such a big game, one journalist isn’t convinced and wouldn’t be surprised if Sir Alex included his captain in the side that faces City at the Etihad.

David Anderson, like the rest of us, is familiar with Sir Alex Ferguson’s mind games and has seen them work perfectly, giving him the edge against rivals and the defender thinks this may be another instance of that as he told TalkSport:

“The press have heard it before so you wonder if it is a bit of mind games [from Ferguson] to lull Mancini in and then come Sunday when you look down the team-sheet Vidic is on it.”
