Henriquez is fitting in wellRoberto Martinez has reportedly agreed a deal with Manchester United to take striker Angelo Henriquez on loan, and the Spanish manager hopes to help with his development as he did with Tom Cleverley.

Henriquez joined United from Unversidad de Chile in the summer but has had to make do with u21s appearances as he adapts to life in England, despite being a full Chilean international.

A loan move appeared to be his best option and Wigan boss Martinez has moved quickly to wrap up a deal for the 19 year old, and now hopes to get the best out of the youngster in his spell with the Latics.

Martinez also signed Tom Cleverley on loan 2 seasons ago and gave the midfielder a taste of life in the Premiership. Although the move was curbed by injury, it is felt that it gave the young midfielder the tools to step into the first team as he did last season.

The Daily Mirror quote Martinez as saying:

“Angelo is as good a goalscorer as you will find. He scored goals at Universidad de Chile and he is going to score goals here.

“I am sure he will be an important player for United. We are glad we can work with him and he can use Wigan as Tom Cleverley did and adapt to what is needed in this league.”

The move has long been touted but there has been no official word from the club yet.

A good move for the lad and I hope he does well. Wigan is a good club and they have a top manager. If Angelo does well then I can see him returning to Wigan next season as well. We will still have RVP, Rooney, Hernandez and Welbeck, and so it would be good for him to be out on loan and playing competitive football in the Premier League.
