Ahead of next week’s Champions League tie with Real Madrid, Sir Alex Ferguson popped over to Spain to watch Barcelona take on Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey.
Along with Rene Meulensteen and Mike Phelan, Sir Alex Ferguson watched Jose Mourinho’s side thump Barcelona 3-1 on their home patch with Ronaldo grabbing 2 and Raphael Varane getting the third.
The United scouting party were greeted by Emilio Butragueño (seen below), whilst the likes of Christian Vieri and Andriy Shevchenko were also spotted in the box taking in the game.
United did a good job at the Bernabeu, and take an away goal into the home leg at Old Trafford but if Real Madrid play anything like they did tonight, United will need to be at the top of their game again.
