And whilst the Serbian is hoping to be selected tonight as Manchester United welcome Ronaldo back to Old Trafford for the first time since his £80m move to Spain, Vidic is hoping that rather lining up against, he will be lining up alongside his former team mate in the future, imploring United to resign him.
Sir Alex Ferguson has downplayed a United move to sign their former player saying the paper talk surrounding any move is ‘false hope’, but Vidic would love to be reunited with his former teammate as he told The Sun:
“It would be a big ask for many reasons.
“I would love to see Cristiano here; I could see it.
“He is a United supporter.
“Even though he left he still follows United and still misses the club and the environment here.”
