Adnan Januzaj wants to star for United's first team

Manchester United have a history of producing and developing young talent.

There is a long list of talented players that have called Old Trafford home at some point in their young careers, and Adnan Januzaj is keen to add his name to the roll call.

The 18 year old was signed from Belgian giants Anderlecht to much fanfare, and is showing why he was so highly rated with impressive performances for the u21s, despite still being elegible for the u18s.

Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken highly of the attacker saying,

“He has good balance, good acceleration and is a very good technical player. He and Nick Powell, of the younger players, are at the top.”

And whilst he was delighted to be singled out by the boss, he’s focusing on fulfiling his potential and starring for United’s first team as he told Inside United:

“I came here to do something and focus on my football. I may be in the Under-21s but it’s good to try and get in the first team even when you’re 18 as well. I would love to go on tour with the first team but we’ll see. I have just got to keep going.”

Our academy hasn’t produced a player good enough to play for us since 1992. We’ve jus had a few welbecks and cleverleys. Average players that stop us from buying class.

Yes because it’s always a good idea to count players out at such a young age!

      • Haha! says:

What rather than persist with them for the next 5 years of rubbish football and then get rid of them? Tell me one player that was average at 22-23 that turned out to be world class….. There isn’t one.

Its true we dnt hv good academy this ferguson he must say if is tired witch team then he must leave than to that academy will make him to not buy good player to come change the team?since ronald and tevez left the team man utd still not become the way use to be.

        • Roy says:

Didier Drogba and Ruud van Nistlerooy were both late developers, they did ok for themselves.

  2. Trevor says:

I agree with you that we have not produced good enough. We have the young players that are good enough to emerge into the first team if United had the coaches. Look at 92 I don’t think they were as good as the players we have now but they had a terrific coach. If you look at the under 18 and under 21
Anyone can see there is something sadly wrong. If ther

  3. Trevor says:

Anyone can see there is something sadly wrong with the coaching on both teams. The way they defend corners with 11 players I n the penalty box. At times it looks as though the Ant Hill Mob are playing
Pereira one of the best players in the under 18 s is always sub
I think the coach does not like him

  4. justin says:

We agreet sir alex ferguson he did a lot for man utd but for this time I think is tired they man utd have to change him because he doesn’t win any competition to buy good players,he can start to cloose good players who can come in and change the team but to the end he failed to buy him and on this time he must knw jeso his coming back to chelsea and he use to see good players and buy it not like him so if is tired witch team better he left the post to sm1 else because his disappointing fans now.

  5. justin says:

How can ferguson think to sell nani when he doesn’t have any good winger?young since he arrive in the club he never prove it the way he was playing in a.villa.

  6. justin says:

Bro is nothing there in academy is must focus to buy good players only than to think to much about academy,he doesn’t if all the clubs have those academy but they a buying good players?maybe man utd have money problem?

  7. Falcoa, good player to go for, that is not the problem of utd, defendsive midfieder, creative attacking midfieder, d coach should long for, nani should remain at old tradford, valencia can go, giving younger players chance to play, if not sir alex should retire. Goodluck to utd
