Has Nemanja Matic agreed a move to Old Trafford?

Having been recently linked with him, Portugese daily Diario de Noticias is reporting that Manchester United have reached an agreement with Benfica midfielder Nemanja Matic.

Matic, formerly of Chelsea, is believed to have green lighted a move to Old Trafford after learning of United’s interest in him back in February.

Sporting Witness broke down the farcical manner in which A Bola mistakenly came to the conclusion that the Serb was on United’s radar, meaning there are doubts over Diario de Noticias claims and with the report reiterating the fact that no agreement has been reached with Benfica, it could very well be a case of them jumping the gun.

But The Mirror claim that Martin Ferguson, brother of Sir Alex and Manchester United’s head scout, was at St James Park on Thursday as Newcastle took on Benfica to run the rule over Yohan Cabaye, another reported United target, so who is to say that he may not have been watching Matic too?

Too many ifs, buts and maybes for me. I call bullsh*t but nice to see United actually linked with central midfielders, I mean if the papers can see its a problem area for the team then the man who has been at the helm for the past 26 years must too right?

This summer is going to be fun, I can feel it!

I think that guy in right fergie should rest van persie for this match and why fergie wait till 80 minute to make changes why he did not start making changes at 70 or 75 minutes player like kagawa, chicharito need time to enter in the match and then make their influences am very dissapointed with fergie for late subsititute in man city match.

SAF should be blamed should Man U fail to win the next three games. Why on earth must he start Giggy in the last four or four games yet that midfield needs an energy running blood. May be SAF wants Giggy to break record on appearances made in EBPL. Why not Cleverly Carrick Valencia and Welbeck in the midfield, Kagawa behind Rooney at the attack then Rafael Evans/Jones Ferdinand Evra at the back with De Gea btn the posts. That is what we call TRUE WINNING TEAM OF MAN UNITED FC.

SUBS: Van P, Chicharito and either Jones or Evans

That well said my friend me too was very angry when giggs play full match against city there player like cleversly and even kagawa who can change the game in midfield but why fergie did not replace giggs in second half and on top he wait till 80 minutes to change players is it fair to young talented player who hope to come and change the match.

Mimic is a marvellous player and would fit in perfectly at United .
Forget about Cabaye and sign McCarthy from Wigan. He is a younger and covers more ground and also has better vision for A pass.
