United have agreed terms with Cabaye

David Moyes will miss out on signing Yohan Cabaye after PSG saw a bid for the French international accepted last night.

PSG had seen a £14m bid rejected earlier but bankrolled by the oil money of a Qatari consortium, the French side returned with an improved bid said to be in the region of £23m for Cabaye.

Cabaye scored the winner for Newcastle last month as Alan Pardew’s side took 3 points from Old Trafford, further fuelling speculation that he could be drafted in by Moyes to bolster the midfield.

But with PSG looking to add Cabaye to their £300m plus list of signings, Moyes will be forced to look elsewhere.

The 28 year old was seen as a potential signing for David Moyes during this transfer window in addition to Juan Mata but it appears he will now be returning to his native France. Perhaps the move opens the door for a United move for Blaise Matuidi who is still yet to sign a new deal with the Parisians.
