Arsenal ready to smash their wage structure to sign Rooney

According to reports, Arsenal are set to smash their current wage structure to lure Wayne Rooney to The Emirates.

There has been uncertainty over Rooney’s future since Sir Alex confirmed that he had requested to leave the club, Rooney has reportedly denied this but is yet to speak publicly on his future leaving the door open for speculation.

PSG are said to be ready to flex their financial muscles and take him to France but it appears that Arsene Wenger is ready to move in, playing on the fact that Rooney would likely prefer to stay in England especially having just had another child.

Whilst Rooney is currently on £250k a week, Wenger knows he can’t match this so is looking to offer the striker £200k a week for 5 years but with a huge signing fee to entice the United man. Will this be enough with Real Madrid and Chelsea also said to be looking at him?

Andy Cole believes Rooney will remain at the club, whilst David Gill said United are doing everything they can to keep him but if he has already made up his mind United will look to get a fee close to the £40m that they value him at.

Who’d want him. The reports are bullshit. For that money you could have cavani or falcao (and we won’t be breaking our wage structure to sign them either), even though we should.
