Bale

Linked with a move to Old Trafford, Manchester United will be encouraged by Gareth Bale’s latest comments.

Bale has seen his stock rise over the past few season as Tottenham’s star player and is now being linked with a big money move to Real Madrid. Reports earlier this week claimed he had agreed a 6 year deal with the club but Tottenham denied this.

Manchester United will take heart from Spurs’ comments, as they have designs of taking Bale to Old Trafford and will hope it’s second time lucky, having failed to sign him from Southampton in 2007.

United will take further encouragement from Bale’s words, speaking at an EA sport event for the new FIFA 14 game.

Asked by EA Sport who his idol growing up was, the Spurs star responded:

”Ryan Giggs. He’s from Wales, left-footed and played left-wing like I do. It was an obvious choice.

“I’ve watched him a lot over the years – he’s an unbelievable player and a true legend of football.”

With Ryan Giggs taking up a coaching role and set to hang up his boots at the end of the season, could Giggs hold the key to signing Bale?

Real Madrid have constantly used former star Zinedine Zidane to sway players, Raphael Varane was said to be set to join united before Zidane intervened and are using him to woo Bale, so could Giggs by Moyes’ ace in the hole in this instance?

  2. Fergus says:

Bale might have been tempted while SAF was still there, but now you’re managed by the thinking man’s Tony Pulis there’s no chance.

I understand spurs fans being scared of losing bale because without him they are crap. The fact of the matter is that even with bale they cant achieve 4th spot in the league. He’s tried but knows deep down that’s as far as spurs can go. he’s too good and should be winning the biggest and best trophies football has to offer. Spurs fans need to realise Man united won the league with ease if your team/sqaud is so much better than ours why cant you win it. Hate all you want but Gareth Bale ain’t daft he’s getting off, Come up North Gaz

If you think we’re bad without Bale, wait until you see your lot without Fergie!

You’re going to struggle to get top 4 this season, and the likes of Bale, Fabregas, Alcantara, Rooney etc. all know it.

      Welcome to the real world.

    • Bob Hope says:

Aside from RVP and possibly Rooney, how many Utd players would get in to the Spurs team? Be honest now…

In your dreams, what drivel are you mouthing Mr Manure, have you even stopped to think about the gigantic gap in revenue and expenditure between both clubs over the years, do you know know the difference in stadium capacity and the revenue it generates for both clubs, even in comparison to Sunderland, we at Tottenham know ignorant football afficionados like yourself just open your gob and just mouth off irrelevance, especially considering the giant strides we’re definitely making which people like you can’t ever appreciate, and the fact that Gareth Bale will never come to you even when his tired of us and decides to move on, because we wouldn’t sell him to a rival in the EPL, and surely isn’t it high time you stopped salivating over another teams player?

  7. Pedro says:

    • red devil is deluded says:

What are you talking about !! What planet are you on, ‘never heard a utd fan talking bad about Spurs,’ get a grip! There are fans at each club that will habitually abuse other fans and clubs, and it’s encouraged by comments like yours which raise to the bait. I’m sorry but that comment just sounded like a spoilt kid, Utd don’t get any more or less abuse than those clubs you mentioned, it sounds like you have a persecution complex. I took your own advise about not scolling pass.

Wow – Bale admires Giggs (fair enough, who doesn’t?), so therefore he will go to Man U? I believe he also said he admires Maradonna? That means the following, I believe.

“Maradonna” sounds like “donner”, a type of kebab sold in some Turkish restaurants; Besiktas are a Turkish team. “Besiktas” sounds like “Windass”, Dean Windass played for Bradford City so clearly the logic points to Bradford City bidding for Bale.

I expect a £100m bid from the Yorkshire Giants within the next 48 hours … mark my words!

Seriously guys … get a grip.
