Bale

Linked with a move to Old Trafford, Manchester United will be encouraged by Gareth Bale’s latest comments.

Bale has seen his stock rise over the past few season as Tottenham’s star player and is now being linked with a big money move to Real Madrid. Reports earlier this week claimed he had agreed a 6 year deal with the club but Tottenham denied this.

Manchester United will take heart from Spurs’ comments, as they have designs of taking Bale to Old Trafford and will hope it’s second time lucky, having failed to sign him from Southampton in 2007.

United will take further encouragement from Bale’s words, speaking at an EA sport event for the new FIFA 14 game.

Asked by EA Sport who his idol growing up was, the Spurs star responded:

”Ryan Giggs. He’s from Wales, left-footed and played left-wing like I do. It was an obvious choice.

“I’ve watched him a lot over the years – he’s an unbelievable player and a true legend of football.”

With Ryan Giggs taking up a coaching role and set to hang up his boots at the end of the season, could Giggs hold the key to signing Bale?

Real Madrid have constantly used former star Zinedine Zidane to sway players, Raphael Varane was said to be set to join united before Zidane intervened and are using him to woo Bale, so could Giggs by Moyes’ ace in the hole in this instance?

We live in the real world its you spurs fans that are dreaming I have no doubt whatsoever that David Moyes is the man for the job. foundation set on top of foundation etc can not crumble David moyes has got one of the best jobs in football. Rooney was causing issues when Fergie was finishing off his fantastic acheivement for the club. we are going to get cesc and bale and a couple more. I know Bale is like jesus christ to spurs but he can only sacrifice so much God damm it

Granted footballers are the sharpest tools in the shed but personally if it were me in this position I would certainly not want to go to Utd to be the next anybody and rather make my own history elsewhere. I see no correlation between Bale being a fan of giggs and wanting to turn up at Utd to replace him on the left wing. Maybe but now Fergie has gone and Moyes is at the helm Utd has lost a lot of its pulling factor.

  3. Dc says:

You boys are deluded. You are not getting bale, get over it. You are not as big a draw for players now without fergie.

Who is the joker that said hardly any united players would get in the spurs team????
    What you smoking????

    Erm…….
    Van Persie
    Rooney
    De Gea
    Rafael
    Vidic
    Ferdinand
    Jones
    Evans
    Evra
    Carrick
    Kagawa
    Nani
    Valencia
    Hernandez
    Welbeck

All players that would improve spurs!!!

I understand everybody writing us off because fergie has retired, but lets jus see what happens, give moyes a chance fergie had to start some where!

And besides let’s face it if we don’t win another title for the next 50 years we will still have won more than spurs!!!

Honestly, I’d rather have Bale, Lloris, Dembele, Vertonghen, Kaboul, Dawson, Sandro, Holtby, Paulinho, Walker, Chadli and Lennon thank you very much, although admittedly that list would give us a very good reserve team too…

  7. Bash says:

Haha yeah. What a load of drivel. Utd couldn’t afford bale, real are the only club who can and they still need their paper(Marca) to try and unsettle. Moyes hasn’t won anything, Fergie did before goin utd, jus sayin… Reckon it’s gonna b tight at top, spurs for top 4 for sure, don’t care where u end up

  8. cartel says:

Bale will cost a new world record fee.

Man united are simply bot in a position to spend 85+ mil on a player (regardless of what moyes says)

    Discussion over!

    Any further arguments are pointless

  9. SpursFansDeluded says:

“Cartel” your obviously on the inside and must know all about uniteds finances!!!

What a joker have you even got a job?? Your probably living in your council house on benefits and still think you can decide what the biggest money making sports club in the world can afford?!

United have made more money than any other sports club in the world over the past 10 years! This year we have been taken off the top spot by real madrid because of the big names on their books. And the fact is united need a talisman someone in the top 5 players in the world so whether its Bale or Ronaldo (who by the way is far better) united will stump up the cash if they feel they need to because it will only grow our fan base and increase our profit margins in the long run!

    • SP says:

What a convenient little get-out you’ve allowed yourself in your last sentence: “…if they fell the need to…”. So, in other words, if United waste their time by making a bit (that would almost certainly be topped by Real – not that Spurs would accept either), you can say “well, we mustn’t really have felt the need.” ROFL

Get real, your thinking is stuck in the 1990,s. United can’t afford, Spurs won’t sell, Spurs won’t sell to United.

  10. Big E says:

cartel your right united are not in a position to spend that kind of cash on bale only ronaldo is worth that. Gareth would welcome the CHANCE to play at the Stadium of Dreams and get PAID for it. All I can hear is fear from spurs fan, top four your havin a laugh brav

    • SpursFansDeluded says:

If they are not in the position to spend that kind of money on bale how can you say they could spend it on ronaldo???

If you mean they have got the funds but bale isn’t worth it but ronaldo is then I agree!

But if your saying they couldn’t afford Bale but could afford Ronaldo then that just doesn’t make sense???

Best thing that could happen is bale moves to Madrid, Ronaldo then comes back to Old Trafford and as a good will gesture we let spurs have a player that matches their quality……Bebe

      Everyone is a winner!!!

    • SP says:

      Really?
I’ve been very relaxed about the whole situation since way before the end of the season.
Spurs are a club very much on the up – you may have missed that in your myopia.
I saw a Wet Spam fan, online, bigging it about how Spurs are a one-man team and he would be sold in the Summer. Yeah, right…so, the worst case scenario for us is having an excellent young squad (one-man team? rubbish), one of the most highly-rated young coaches in World football, one of the most highly-rated youth set-ups in England, the best youth personnel in England (Liam Brady’s words, not mine), the state-of-the-art training centre in England and Europe, a new stadium underway, our transfer budget for this season + money from selling deadwood players + humongous amount of money from selling Bale.

      Yeah, I’m crapping myself 😀

Bale has shown no desire to leave THFC, and even less that none to play for MUFC. Your arrogance is out of date. And Bale is worth what anyone is willing to pay for him, and by all accounts that is at least as much as was paid for Roandlo (Greasy, not Fat) – oh, yeah, I forgot, Bale inhernetly can’t be as good as Ronaldo…Ronalso played for United. Arrogant, childish rubbish.

p.s. Is CL such a laugh? Spurs have finished in the top 4 in two of the last four season, in the other two they have missed out, and finished 5th, on the final day of the season, once thanks to Marton Fulop throwing the ball into his own net three times in one match, and the second time after Arsen*l were helped by massive luck, officiating decisions and matches falling perfectly for them in the last 8 games (were they played poorly), but still on a highest points total for Spurs and a 5th placed team, during a transition season, having lost three inspriational players, integrating six neew players, and with a horrible injury list. The club has already strengthened significantly, with player purchases and continue to do so. Oh, yeah, and Gareth Bale is negotiating a new deal.

      Get with the times…dinosaur!

      • Picks says:

Go wank your small sausage over bale and stop hating on the fact we are a bigger, richer more successful club. Arrogant but true. Ronaldo does it season after season, bale still has a few more to establish himself in the messi-ronaldo bracket. When bale goes, (inevitable) villas boas goes you will find yourself back where you belong- mid table fodder.
