Juan Mata

Jose Mourinho has quickly moved to dismiss Manchester United’s interest in Juan Mata, claiming the Spaniard is not for sale.

It’s been reported that Manchester United enquired about the 25 year old’s availability and he was previously been linked with United earlier in the summer, as part of a deal that would have seen Wayne Rooney going in the opposite direction.

But speaking at his press conference this afternoon, Chelsea manager Mourinho quickly quashed any notion that Mata may join United saying:

“No speculation, no speculation. He’s a player we all like, he’s a player we all want to keep, not a player we want to lose.”

Jose Mourinho needs to take a bit of his own advice (just as he was dishing out to Paul Lambert of Aston Villa) and grow up and show some respect. His ‘ethical’ approach of not submitting a 3rd bid for Rooney is to tell the media that he will wait til after the game? If he was being ethical and showing United some respect then he would of kept his mouth shut full stop. If United say Rooney is not for sale, then he’s not for sale. If Chelsea say Juan Mata is not for sale, then he’s not for sale either. Unless Wayne Rooney comes face to face with a TV camera and says that he wants to leave United (something he has not done yet as its all 3rd parties, agents and paper talk) then stop trying to unsettle a player with your pointless mindgames.
