Having fired Galatasaray into the Champions League knockout stages, Wesley Sneijder has left the door open for a move to Old Trafford.

Frequently linked with a move to Old Trafford in his time at Inter Milan, Sneijder found his way to Galatasaray but with fresh rumours linking him with a move to Old Trafford resurfacing last week, he may finally become a Manchester United player.

Sneijder scored the winner in yesterday’s replayed Champions League game with Juventus, sending his side into the knockout stages and after the game the Dutch midfielder told Dutch paper NOS:

“I know nothing.

“I know only as much as you do just the reports in the newspapers, which seem to come out every time the transfer window is about to reopen.

“It’s pretty annoying when you’re playing in Turkey. The people here are very emotional and passionate about it all.

“I have no desire to have to justify myself to the people every time my name is in the media. I’m fine here and enjoying myself, and the fact that we progressed in the Champions League is great.

“I am happy here, but you never know for certain what will happen in football.”

Sneijder is said to have a €13m buyout clause but with him being cup tied and at his age, it seems unlikely that United will be willing to pull the trigger on a move for him in January.
