Transfer rumour favourite Wesley Sneijder has revealed that Manchester United attempted to sign him during the January transfer window.

Despite being linked with a move to Old Trafford since 2010, Sneijder is yet to pull on the United shirt.

This December the rumours resurfaced, but were quickly denied by Sneijder and his representatives but now the Galatasaray star has confirmed that United made a move for him last month:

“There were clubs who wanted to sign me like Manchester United but I have no intention of leaving and my club have no intention of letting me go.

“Leaving in January didn’t even cross my mind and the club have never told me to leave.

“There is still a lot to achieve here we are competing in the league, Turkish Cup and have a chance of beating Chelsea in the Champions League.

“I feel at home here and that’s not something you feel everywhere you go.”

United’s move for the 29 year old was confirmed by Galatasaray Sportive Coordinator Bülent Tulun who confirmed:

“Sneijder received an indirect offer from Manchester United but it was not accepted.”

The never ending saga continues…
