David Moyes claims Manchester United have no need to go out and replace Fiorentina bound Anderson, because the return of Darren Fletcher has reinvigorated the midfield.
Anderson underwent a medical with the Italian club today ahead of a loan move to the Florence club but his departure will leave United a man light in an already under strength midfield.
Many had hoped that Moyes would bring in fresh faces to shake up United’s charge for the top 4, but the Scot believes Fletcher is as good as a new signing after overcoming a bowel complaint that has seen him miss large parts of the last 2 seasons.
Speaking at his Friday presser, when asked about Anderson Moyes responded:
“We brought Darren Fletcher back and to be truthful we didn’t think Darren Fletcher was going to come back. If he did we weren’t sure when it was going to be. He’s been a breath of fresh air how well he has played. He already knows the building, he knows everything about this football club. So I think getting Darren Fletcher back gave us one other player and he’s done very well in the games already.”
Fletcher’s return has been a huge positive for United this season, as he looks to get back to the form that made him as formidable an opponent in the Premier League as any midfielder.
But some fans will be disappointed by Moyes’ comments, despite being happy to have Fletcher back.
The fact the team are relying on a 29 year old who has spent the best part 2 years on the sidelines speaks volumes, even if it is difficult to do business in the January transfer window.
Fletcher has done well since coming back and he will make us a bit stronger in midfield. However we are still weaker than other teams and realistically we still do not have enough quality in that department. It is nothing new because we have been weak there for a few years but we continued to neglect the issue for some reason.
I would say though that Fletcher is a positive for us because we may not be able to sign top quality players until the summer. We need to get into the top four, and as much as fans want new signings right now, we cannot afford to make signings that will turn into deadwood long-term. We have enough of those players already and Moyes is hopefully beginning to get rid of them now.
I think Moyes is correct in only targeting top quality now and if that means we have to wait until the summer then so be it. I hope the return of Fletcher will contribute to us getting into the top four, along with the return of Carrick and Fellaini from injury, and hopefully the loan return of Nick Powell this month.
We are tired of Moyes’ stories, he is killing Man u coz of failing 2 lure world class players to United. He must be fired when he lose 2 Chelsea. Money is not a prblm 4 man u but wth Moyes, he has failed completely

To think about it might be d best thing to liv d marquee signins till d summer derz no doubt moyes is lookin at d top name reus koke gundogan etc but der respective clubs will not want to sell midway of d season united dnt hav to look far we hav powell who is impressing so well at wigan we can also look at jesse lingard a winger hu scored 4 goals at his debut game on loan and has bagged many more he was also our highest goal scorer during d pre season nd his name was on the line up against swansea I still support dat d team needs strenghthng nd shuld target defenders dis january we score teams but concede goal a lot right nau dat shuld be sorted out look at chelsea aa very boring team dey score nd all run back 2 defence putting faith in der nener failin defence .

All the midfielders in United except Fletcher,are nothin but a sham.Carrick doesnt even know what it means to be a midfielder.He stays @ a position rather than roaming.Cleverly is just an opportunist.United’s best midfielder is Anderson.What out for d young man @ Fiorentina.Also,I have never supported Moyes as a coach,cos he’s an underachiever.There are good players in south America who can give ur what we want.It mustnt be Europe all d time.Sorry folks,we’re loosing sunday’s match

DM doesn’t and will never bring any value to MU. There is no need to debate about his capability and credentials. We are doomed for failures and miseries when we chose him to be a manager and he made things worse by replacing the backroom with underachievers like himself. I have serious doubts that there will be any world class signings. The best he could do is enriching Everton fc by overpaying underachiever players.

Moyes should buy one or two midfilder this month.fletcher & carrick&Giggs aren`t used man utd team in middle.They should rest or out from man utd.

Yes he make us strong but we must buy two midfielder to avoid injuries problem. This does means that we got fletcher that we does need to buy midfielder. We need central midfielder and central defender
