David Moyes is set to beat Real Madrid and Barcelona to the signature of Borussia Dortmund’s Ilkay Gundogan according to Alex Nixon of The People.
Gundogan is one of Dortmund’s most sought after commodities and with his contract situation no closer to being cleared up, it is likely he will be on the move this summer.
Having missed most of the season with a back injury, Gundogan said last week that Dortmund are his primary concern and getting fit and playing for Jurgen Klopp’s side is at the forefront of his plans but The Daily Mirror are reporting that Moyes has won the race to take the German international from the Westfalenstadion.
Whilst there are no quotes, the obligatory “Shinji Kagawa could return to Dortmund to sweeten the deal” has been used (as it was when discussing Reus, Hummels and Subotic).
An exciting summer lays ahead methinks!
