With the season done focus turns to international football, and last night England’s u19s routed Slovenia with the help of some United starlets.

With the Keane twins as well as Tom Thorpe and Sam Johnstone in the starting line up, Noel Blake’s side hammered a spirited Slovenia side 5-0.

Both Keanes have been in fine form recently, Michael was named reserve team player of the year, whilst Will has been in his usual goal scoring mood and grabbed the opener in the Manchester Senior Cup final. Last night was to be no different as Will grabbed a brace and was also joined on the scoresheet by captain of last season’s FA Youth Cup winning side Tom Thorpe.

Captain Sam Johnstone was reliable when called upon especially in tipping over a deflected effort from Luka Kranjc.

The four will next face Montenegro tomorrow.

Very to see our youngsters do well in the international circuit. I hope most of them make the grades at United

Its really good to see our young players doing well. Clearly the Keane brothers have potential and there’s a lot of hope that they will both come through. I think next season we will loan Will and Michael Keane to Championship or League 1 teams. I also see Tom Thorpe and Sam Johnstone going out on loan next season as well.

Will Keane already look very much like a PL striker.
