Robin Van Persie may be on holiday but the work never stops for the Manchester United striker.

Fresh off finishing 3rd with Holland at the World Cup, Van Persie was given a 3 week holiday by Louis van Gaal ahead of resuming duties with United.

But whilst off enjoying the sun in Barbados, it appears that Van Persie is having a quiet word in the ear Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen.

The Belgian center back has been linked with a move to Manchester United and whilst Arsenal are reportedly ready to resist any overtures from United, could Van Persie convince his former team mate to join him at Old Trafford?

I’m sure Arsene won’t be happy with this one!

at least he vermaelen will bring a bit of grrrrr to the back line, what we need, pity he’s crocked with injuries, but so are jones smalling and Evans too. maybe they can alternate injuries nxt season… hummels Mangala, way better options in my opinion. smalling is actually a pretty decent RB so with Raf there too that’s that covered, left back is a bit short on cover. I’ve been sayin this for years that rooney is the-new scholes, box to box midfielder like scholes years ago, same range of passing, vision and positioning. only difference is Wayne can tackle, just… I think with rooney, Herrera, mata, kagawa, januzaj, carrick, Valencia and fletcher there is enough bodies and versatility in midfield, although I’d like to see di Maria there too, for as wasteful as he can be, he works so hard and there is no denying his ability or commitment. rvp, Hernandez and that man Cavani. with that squad I can see Louis walkin in to the city of Manchester stadium in November, picking up the premier league trophies and sayin to pellegrini, “I’ll have that, just returning it to the rightful side of Manchester”!….
