The rumour mill is spinning once again.
A recent report from the Mirror has surfaced, linking PSG stars, Edinson Cavani and Thiago Silva, to Manchester United.
The reports of a Cavani move from Paris are not surprising. Cavani has not been shy about his disapproval of having to play out wide in manager Laurent Blanc’s 4-3-3 formation.
With the rumour in the early stages, PSG club president, Nasser Al Khelaifi, has made an effort to get ahead of the reports by claiming that the club has no intention of transferring Cavani over the summer.
However, with United all but securing a Champions League qualification spot with a 4-2 Manchester Derby victory, Louis van Gaal is looking to build on an already impressive roster. United are reportedly willing to offer Robin van Persie, Javier Hernandez, Rafael or Nani plus cash for both Cavani and Silva.
The report also claims that United have been targeting Cavani for about a year now. Van Gaal sees the Uruguayan product as a perfect fit for his 4-3-3 formation at Old Trafford.
United are also in the market for a tough and gritty centre-back, a desription that all but sums up Silva, the Brazilian defencive specialist.
